Terms and Conditions

Oxford Intensive Driving School
Terms & Conditions

1. About Us
Oxford Intensive Driving School provides driving tuition through experienced, self-employed
driving instructors. Each instructor operates independently and enters into a direct contract
for tuition with the learner.

2. Eligibility
Learners must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and be legally entitled to
drive in the UK. The licence must be presented at the first lesson and upon request.

3. Lesson Bookings
All lessons and courses are subject to availability. Lesson duration, start times, and locations
are agreed in advance. Lessons are provided on a one-to-one basis unless otherwise agreed.

4. Payments
All lessons must be paid in advance. Weekly lessons must be paid at least 48 hours before
the lesson. Intensive courses must be paid in full before the course start date.

5. Deposit for Intensive Courses
A deposit is required to secure an intensive course booking. Deposit amounts range between
£250 and £500 depending on course length. The deposit reserves the instructor’s diary and
allocated lesson slots, meaning those times are no longer available to other learners.

6. Deposit Cancellation
The deposit is non-refundable if the intensive course is cancelled with less than 4 full weeks’
notice. With 4 full weeks’ notice or more, the deposit may be refunded or transferred at the
discretion of Oxford Intensive Driving School.

7. Instructor Delays
If an instructor arrives late, the lesson will be extended where reasonably possible. For
60-minute lessons delayed over 30 minutes, the lesson may be rearranged. Longer lessons
are charged only for the actual time delivered.

8. Standard Lesson Cancellations
Standard lessons require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations may result in the
lesson being charged in full.

9. Intensive Course Cancellations
Intensive courses require 4 full weeks’ notice. Cancellations with less notice may result in
partial or full loss of fees including the deposit.

10. Rearranging Lessons
Lessons not paid for in advance may be rearranged or cancelled by the instructor with
reasonable notice.

11. Learner Punctuality
Learners must be ready at the agreed time and location. If a learner is late, the lesson will
still end at the scheduled time.

12. Missed Lessons
Missed lessons or no-shows will be charged in full.

13. Driving Tests

Use of the instructor’s vehicle for a driving test is subject to instructor approval and test readiness. Test-day lessons and vehicle use must be paid in advance.

Assistance with booking or rearranging driving tests may be provided at the instructor’s discretion. Where significant time is required, an additional fee may apply and will be agreed in advance.

If a driving test is cancelled on the day or within 48 hours of the test by the DVSA for reasons outside the instructor’s control (including examiner illness, industrial action, or adverse weather), the scheduled lesson and/or test-day fee remains payable.

If the test is cancelled due to a mechanical fault with the instructor’s vehicle, Oxford Intensive Driving School will take responsibility for the test-day charge.

14. Instructor Vehicle

The instructor’s vehicle is fully insured for driving tuition. Learners must follow all instructions given by the instructor. Any fines, penalties, or charges incurred due to the learner’s actions are the learner’s responsibility.

15. Refunds

Unused prepaid lessons may be refunded only if cancelled within the applicable notice period. No refunds will be given for lessons or courses cancelled outside the notice period.
For intensive courses, refunds are only considered if the 4 full weeks’ notice requirement is met.

16. Confidentiality, Data Protection & Photographs

Personal information shared during lessons or during the booking process will be treated as confidential and handled in accordance with UK GDPR. Instructors act as independent data controllers.

Photographs or short videos may occasionally be taken for marketing or promotional purposes (for example, pass-day photos). Any such material will be used only with the learner’s prior consent.

17. Acceptance of Terms

By booking lessons or an intensive course with Oxford Intensive Driving School, the learner confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
